What WattTrue is
WattTrue measures the power that reaches a phone's battery while it charges, as the phone itself reports it, and compares that with what a charger's label claims. It is a tool for comparing chargers, cables and pads on the same phone.
What the readings are — and are not
- Comparative, not lab-grade. Readings come from the phone's own battery gauge. They are not calibrated instruments and are not a substitute for a USB power meter or a laboratory test.
- Battery-side. Every wattage is what reached the battery, not what the charger drew from the wall. The two are never equal.
- Phone-dependent. Manufacturers report current in different units and with different signs. WattTrue states the assumption behind every figure; some phones need calibration before their figures can be trusted.
- iPhone results are estimates. iOS does not report current or voltage, so an iPhone result is a charge-rate estimate from 5 % steps and is labelled as one.
- Observations, not accusations. A verdict describes what one charger delivered to one phone in one run. It is not a statement about a manufacturer, a seller or whether a product is genuine.
Safety
WattTrue does not certify any charger as safe. A charger, cable or pad that gets hot, smells, sparks, swells or damages a connector should be unplugged and not used again, whatever any app says about it. Do not leave charging equipment you distrust unattended.
Using WattTrue
Use WattTrue lawfully and on devices and networks you are allowed to use. If you publish results, present them as what they are — a comparative measurement on your phone — and do not use them to make false statements about anyone.
No warranty
WattTrue is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not promise that it will be error-free or that every phone reports usable data.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for decisions made on the strength of a reading — including buying, returning or reviewing a product. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

How WattTrue handles data — in short, it keeps your readings on your own devices — is described in the privacy policy.

This website uses the Inter and JetBrains Mono typefaces under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Other components carry their own licences, listed with each app.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the date at the top changes when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon.
